DescriptionATHENS Village & Town Wide ANNUAL CLEANUP DAY
Saturday, April 9, 2011 8:30 AM -- 12:30 PM (Please note new times this year)
WE WILL ACCEPT HOUSEHOLD: SCRAP METAL, APPLIANCES, FURNITURE AND GENERAL DEBRIS, TIRES (Limit 4 tires per household) WE CANNOT ACCEPT: TV’s, COMPUTER SCREENS, HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE, CONSTRUCTION OR DEMOLITION DEBRIS, OR ANY HAZARDOUS MATERIALS, PAINTS, LIQUIDS, PESTICIDES or COMMERCIAL WASTE HAULERS NOTE: COMMERCIAL WASTE WILL BE RE-DIRECTED TO THE COUNTY TRANSFER FACILITY ON ROUTE 385 in CATSKILL (Where a fee will be charged)
LOCATION: Village of Athens Brush Dump (behind the Village Firehouse on 3rd Street) Enter at the front of the firehouse, proceed around the building and exit on South Washington Street.
PLEASE Avoid the Rivertown Senior Housing Driveways
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO PROVE YOUR RESIDENCY IN THE TOWN or VILLAGE OF ATHENS BY SHOWING TAX BILL, LICENSE, PHONE BILL, ELECTRIC BILL, ETC.
A STATION WILL BE MANNED TO CHECK RESIDENCY TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR TOWN and VILLAGE

Athens Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 2500 people living in an area of 10 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
